MATERIALISING THOUGHT - Art, Material and Action
An overarching quest for the seminar is to probe how conceptual art can be reinterpreted, re-contextualized and revitalized at a point when institutional as well as artistic practices are in flux and under pressure.

Sauna is at your own cost. A 2-hour slot in sauna costs 19 euro and includes a towel, seat cover, shampoo and soap. Please bring your own swimming suit (renting swimwear costs 6e / 2h). There is a possibility to dip / swim in the sea (for courageous ones!).

Conclusion of the meeting. Presenting the new KUNO Steering group and announcing the location of next annual meeting.

Guided tourist tour to the dark and wild suburban forest with dramatic caves, ruined fortifications and peripherian activities: remains of outsider camps, such as: the site where the Eremit of Black Mountain once lived, the camp site of former moonshine gang…
-Bus transportation leaving from the hotel and returning to the hotel at 18.00 at the latest. Please dress up warmly with good shoes and be prepared to get a bit dirty.
-MAXIMUM number of participants: 25, please sign up in advance! (KUNO registration form)
-In case of bad weather (rain) the tour is replaced by a lecture by Jussi Kivi taking place at the exhibition Laboratory

Price pr double and single room is about 113 € pr night.
!Note that each person/institution must pay for the room upon departure. Each school is responsible for booking and cancellation.
KUNO REIMBURSEMENT INFORMATION
Kuno supports up to 3 participants to take part in the meeting: 1 coordinator, 1 teacher and 1 leader (dean/rector/head of department for network meeting). KUNO supports 3rd night for those choosing to stay in Helsinki until Sunday for the networking night.
What is reimbursed? Following the annual meeting, each participating school should send an invoice to KUNO for reimbursement of travel and hotel.
-Maximum refund for travel is 300 EUR pr. participant (except 600 from Iceland).
-Maximum refund of hotel is 3 nights each for 3 participants, depending on their length of stay (check rule above on IRC, leader and teacher).
How to invoice: Following the KUNO events in Helsinki, your academy should send an invoice addressed to Iceland University of the Arts / KUNO, Thverholt 11, 105 Reykjavík, Iceland. It should preferably be sent by email: alma@lhi.is / Reference: “KUNO Helsinki” . The invoice should include names of participants and receipts of the purchased flight tickets and hotel. The invoice should be sent no later than end of Dec 2018.
! Note that transport to/from airport is not reimbursed.
HOW TO GET THERE - ARRIVAL INFO:
From the airport to the Academy of Fine Arts: we recommend that coordinators arrive straight to the Academy of Fine Arts on Thursday by taking the bus 615 from the airport and stopping at Mäkelänrinne / Backasbrinken bus stop. Elimäenkätu 25 A is a 2-minute walk from the bus stop.
From the airport to the hotel Radisson Blu Seaside: a Finnair bus, bus 615 or train to the city centre (railway station) and take tram number 6 to it‘s terminal stop Hietalahti / Sandviken.
From the hotel to the Academy of Fine Arts: tram number 7 to the direction of Länsi-Pasila / Västra Böle, stop at Mäkelänrinne / Backasbrinken (takes 30 minutes)
Please note also that the hotel is close to Länsiterminaali (Western harbour) in case you are arriving by ferry.
